For years I’ve celebrated Oktoberfest. I enjoy catching up with old friends, meeting new friends, listening to music outdoors & just relaxing for a couple of days.

Though until now, I didn’t really know much about its history, other than it originated in Munich and of the celebrations here in the states, La Crosse, WI is ranked 3rd. So, here are some facts I found …

* Oktoberfest was originally a royal wedding

* Nobody drinks until the Mayor taps the first keg

* Over 4,000 items are lost and found during the festival
